Our 9 Week Summer Internship Program is designed to develop, teach and mentor undergraduates, graduate students and veterans as they explore career opportunities within the credit union industry. Students will be given the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to hands on project focused tasks in various departments throughout Frontwave Credit Union.
AVAILABLE INTERNSHIPS:
Accounting
As an Accounting Intern, you will have a variety of opportunities to learn and apply accounting principles within the financial industry. You will assist with performing basic accounting activities such as posting various journal entries, compiling and balance reconciling general ledgers. You may also gain hands-on experience with accounts payable or employee reimbursement. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience as well as learn the demands of the financial industry.
Finance
As a Finance Department Intern, you will collaborate with Accounting and Business Intelligence teams on key financial projects. Tasks will include participation in preparing financial reports, recommendations for improving reporting processes, drafting new procedures, testing existing procedures, and analyzing data to identify trends and potential opportunities for improvement.
Marketing (2)
As a Social Media & Graphics Intern, you'll be immersed in the exciting world of digital marketing, helping us connect with our members and community in new and engaging ways. You'll have the opportunity to contribute creatively to our social media presence, learn about content creation, and gain valuable experience in the financial services industry.
As a Grant Writing Intern, you'll assist in supporting the Frontwave Foundation's mission to strengthen our communities. You'll gain hands-on experience in the world of grant writing and philanthropy, contributing directly to efforts in support of securing funding for impactful initiatives.
Operations
As an Operations Intern you will have the opportunity to learn the importance of banking procedures working in a cross-functional team to gather knowledge of operations. Learning alongside leaders in review and consider of making procedural changes or process improvements. In addition, you will be exposed to helping to create and track production for the branch team and to provide insight to the Director and VP. You will have exposure to Call Center data management. The is a great opportunity to learn about sales and operations.
Process Excellence
As a Project/Process Management Intern you will have a variety of opportunities to engage cross-functionally with various departments regarding the tracking, reporting, collection of data and execution of the project portfolio. In addition, the intern may also learn elements of lean principles such as Kaizen training, process mapping and workflows to assist in our ongoing Process/Continuous Improvement projects across the enterprise.
Program Dates: June 23 – August 22 (9 weeks)
Work Schedule: 9:00am – 5:00pm (may vary by dept.)
Location: 1278 Rocky Point Dr., Oceanside, CA 92056 (near College and Old Grove)
